Window Tint Frost.

Winter time can present many challenges to a window tinter. We not only have to deal with a decrease in business, but also the harsh cold. One thing I would like to point out to anyone thinking of getting their windows done in the winter time is frost damage to your freshly tinted windows. Yes, water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, or (0.0 C) as if you didn't already know, but what you may not have taken into consideration is that your freshly tinted windows can also freeze, or develop frost. Since we use a water and soap based solution to install your new tint. For this reason we ask you to not roll down your windows for 3 to 5 days, (during summer time) so that your new tint can properly cure. So it only happens when it gets down to that REALLY COLD, freezing point. You know the drill, bring your pets in, cover the plants, and etc. If you really need it done, I recommend you keep your vehicle in your garage. Where it could be up to 20 degrees warmer then being outside in the cold. If you don't have a garage, I would wait a few days until it warms up a bit. Which I know can be harder for people who live further to the north. If this does happen to you, please give us a call, so that we can remove the damaged film from your windows, and replace them. We will be more than happy to assist you. Thank you for your time.

Florida's legal tint laws.

The legal tint law for Florida is 28% for the front windows, and 15% for the back and rear. Now, ALOT of people don't realize that the lower the tint shade is, the darker the tint will be. For example a 4% tint shade is considered to be illegal, and the darkest shade available. Also every window, or glass comes 70% tinted from the manufacturer, which is basically clear glass. So when a 4% tint shade is applied to (what you think is clear) glass, it automatically drops to between a 3.5%, and a 2.5%, which is considered limousine, or SUPER DARK, and VERY ILLEGAL!! Illegal tint can get you a $114.00 ticket, per window that is in violation of your states window tinting laws. YES, per window!! Depending on wether or not your just a soccer mom late to pick up the kids, or a bad guy drug dealer, mouthing off to the officer will be the determining factor in your fate! Just something to keep in mind, when your shopping for window film. Also make sure you review, with your qualified window tinter, VLT's (visible light transmittance), UV rejection, and SPF (sun protection factor) like on a suntan lotion. Your window tinting dealer should be able to answer all of your questions and concerns. Please contact me at anytime, should you find yourself asking questions, I am here to educate and serve my customers to the best of my abilities, thank you for your time.
